Erase Meanness | 2018

The Erase Meanness program always brings the pure joy arouse emotions and compassion among the students. The series of the action starts with SMP students performing random acts of kindness at home and taking snapshots of the actions. Shortly after, they visit all the elementary classes and do a campaign. The benign goal is to spread the kindness and its ambience to all elementary students. The  peak of the event is the Pledge Day on the Independence Day of Indonesia, when all students along with the parents and teachers sign the pledge as their commitment to erase meanness and step in the act of kindness and compassion. The series ends with Teen Talks managed by SMP students, inviting 2 guest speakers: Andri Rizki Putra (Founder of Yayasan Pemimpin Anak Bangsa) and Darlene Gitta Hamida (TED Speaker New York) to share their ideas about kindness. This whole activity is expected to help students flourish and bloom to be a decent human being for the betterment of the world.

 

Grade 8 project focuses on spreading kindness in the environment. The series of the action starts with building students’ love and affection towards one another. In the class, students write a compliment note to their friends and put them in the envelope. At the end of the lesson, they read the notes together and the atmosphere of pure joy is so real and definitely arouse emotions and compassion among the students.

                                                             

The project continues by discussing about various examples of kindness acts around the world and making bullet points. The students are encouraged to start doing random acts of kindness at home and take snapshots of the actions. Shortly after, they visit all the elementary classes and do a campaign.
