Independence day celebration : SDM Unggul Indonesia Maju

Educating our children to be the future changer is Lazuardi’s fundamental goal. This is consistent with this year’s tagline of Indonesian Independence Day: SDM UNGGUL INDONESIA MAJU.

According to the theory of Multiple Intelligences by Howard Gardner, Lazuardi believes that every individual is smart in their own way. Thus, to celebrate the different kinds of smart, we host Multiple Intelligences Marathon (MI-Thon). This year’s MI-Thon is coincided with the 74th celebration of Indonesian Independence Day.

Students from Kindergarten up till Junior High join the numerous exhilarating and intriguing competitions. The competitions represent the 7 intelligences: English, Bahasa, Logic Quantitative, Kinesthetic, Visual Spatial, Naturalistic, and Musical. On top of that, students become familiar with the concept of ‘everyone is smart’. With this in mind, we hope it will increase their confidence. Furthermore, it will make them believe their capability to do everything they want to.

The pinnacle celebration is the flag raising ceremony. The selected eligible students of Junior High carries the flag. As the flag rising, Aubade of grade 6 students choir singing the national anthem. All students of Elementary and Junior High, unit heads, teachers, school staff, and parents attend this solemn ceremony.

We sum up the whole series of celebration with the Erase Meanness Pledge Signing. This annual Erase Meanness worldwide kindness celebration is to spread compassion among the attendees. This is also one of the proofs that Lazuardi as the first compassionate school in Indonesia will never stop spreading compassion. Hence, we need everyone’s full endless support and contribution to make this noble intention come true.

“And cause not corruption upon the earth after its reformation. And invoke Him in fear and aspiration. Indeed, the mercy of Allah is near to the doers of good.” (Surah Al A’raf, verse 56)
